It's less than 24 hours before I finished watching from first episode to last episode. I think this is the first time since the <Squid Game>. It seems to be a masterpiece drama that makes the story very solid and allows viewers to be sucked into the story. Since it's an article written after watching all 10 paintings, some content can be spoiler, so let's start by one by one, hoping that you read it carefully.
Various events
Maybe it's because the background is <Yeonhwa District Court>, so many events happen in <Yeonhwa>. For reference, Yeonhwa District Court is said to have been filmed in <Jeonju District Court>. At first, when I thought of it as a ‘Juvenile law’, I thought of the category only about the events drawn, such as theft or assault, but there were many unexpected events corresponding to the ‘Juvenile law’ covered in the drama. Episode 1–2 deal with the <Murder Involved by Minors> and Episode 3 deals with domestic violence. Episode 4-5 tells the story that happens at <the Youth Recovery Center>, and in Episde 6-7, the <Answer Leak Case> is coverd. Episode 8 deals with <Unicensed Traffic Accidents for Minors> and Episode 9-10 deal with <the Case of Sexual Assault>. What’s different from other court dramas is that the judge investigates the process of digging into the case. Instead of judging only by looking at the statements on the paper, jumping directly, sometimes struggling with detectives to collect evidence or save children at risk.
Personally, episodes 1-2 can be said to have acted as a ‘towing car’ of the drama that can stimulate curiosity enough while establishing the identity for this drama. Episode 3 was so heartbreaking that I could break my stereotypes I doubted until the end because of the title of being a <Young offender>. Episode 4-5 are related to the reservement, but the reversal of the reversal continued, so it felt like I was reading a detective story. Episode 6-7 based on the <Sookmyung Women’s High school test paper leak event>, which was already noisy in Korea before. So I was worried that the story would flow into an bocious flow, but It was wovened with content related to ‘Manager judge Gang Won Jung (Lee Sung min)’ and made it more exciting. And this tensionful tension explodes in episode 9-10 through episode 8. And in this content, Finally we could know why 'Judge Shim Eun-seok (Kim Hye-soo)' hates juvenile offenders.
In the events, we don't just argue about the wrongdoing of the juvenile criminals, but also pick up the parts that our society couldn't deal with and show them in detail. And it also makes you realize the importance of the role of adults. After all, because boy offenders are made in 'home' and 'society'.
Excellent acting skills
And one of the reasons I can recommend this drama as a masterpiece is the acting skills of the actors who appear. There is no 'acting hole' that is commonly talked about from the main character to the supporting role. (The word ‘hole’ in Korea refers to a person who lacks some parts.) Needless to say, the main actors Kim Hye-soo, Kim Moo-yeol, Lee Sung-min, and Lee Jung-eun are outstanding actors with acting skills. Especially Kim Hye-soo is really touched by that acting every time he sees it. And the acting skills of the actors who came out as supporting roles are really good enough to clap their hands. One of the actors who come out as boy offenders shines like jewels. In particular, <Baek Sung-woo>, who appeared as a 13-year-old boy who appeared in episode 1, was played by the 95-year-old actress 'Lee Yeon'. The actress played a boy. But when I saw it in the drama, it was so natural that there was no heterogeneity at all. And most of the supporting roles that appeared as students were played by adult actors. Anyway, from the acting skills, it was perfect enough to say that it was really great. If you ask me to pick one, I can do it, but I won't mention it.
Expectations for season 2
The drama ended in episode 10. Will season 2 be made? Since the characters are strong and their stories are solid during the 10-pisode, season 2 can be easily made if the director wants them. Incidents corresponding to the boys' law are already rampant in Korean society, so even if season 2 is conducted, it seems to be not boring at all. If season 2 is made, wouldn't the contents of 'Gangwon-jung Manager Judge' that appeared in the second half of episode 10 be mentioned? When I was talking to Judge Na Geun-hee, I think there was a parliamentary badge on the suit feathers, so I think I ended up becoming a member of the National Assembly, and when I talked to Judge Na Geun-hee, the two were motivated. Then I think it will be easy to deal with events that were famous in the 80's in our country while dealing with the stories of their youth. This part is just my prediction, and season 2 has not yet been confirmed.
